A Family Owned and Operated Vineyard
Our Sangiovese vines were planted in the traditional head-pruned style in 1998 and our family took ownership in 2011. Hal and I have learned a great deal through Viticulture & Enology coursework at UC Davis and through the hands-on experience of personally tending to our vines. Our two sons Jacob and Samuel have been involved in harvest, press and bottling each year and enjoy harvest the most. We believe our family involvement in every stage of growing, all the way through production allows us to deliver the best wine that our vines have to offer.
Sustainability
We are dedicated to stewarding the land where we have our estate vineyards and in everything we do, we put the environment first. Some sustainability measures we have in place include: planting native flowers and trees, building a hugelkultur to sequester carbon and hold water, hanging owl, bat and bluebird boxes for pest management and working with the Habitat Corridor Project in Kenwood to provide habitat to sustain wildlife and native plant restoration while using best practices in water use in our vineyard and olive orchard. We keep over 50% of our land wild in support of wildlife.
